[Travel] Backpacking IndoChina Day 12: Final Day in Hanoi
Today is meant to wrap up everything nicely. We were jubilant as we were able to finish our partial IndoChina trip but I was also a bit sad having to bid Hanoi goodbye. Since it’s my second time there, I took my friend to see the water puppet show, the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, and that drive in ice cream shop tucked away in the French Quarter. Sharing some random shots from each location ^__^
We wanted to go back to that egg coffee shop and so we did and also found a great cha ca place which I will be writing about on a separate post.
Overall, the entire journey was a success. I feel proud making the itinerary from scratch and that we were able to follow it most of the time. Weather wise, It was a great decision starting from Bangkok and making our way to Laos and end with Hanoi. We spent the longest and the most laidback days in Luang Prabang which was just perfect coming from Thailand and the very humid Vientianne. The only caveat, I went over my $500 budget but not much hahaha. Most of it went to a few clothing items I bought in SaPa and a few souvenirs to bring back home. My friend in the meantime, ended up spending only around $400. And what better way to celebrate than to sit down in one of those kiddie chairs along the street and have some beer, snails, and seafood? Cheers!
