[Travel] Cafe Giảng: the elusive Vietnamese egg coffee..

I’m a coffee drinker and I already fell in love with Vietnamese coffee from my very first night in Hanoi. So much so that  I bought a full garbage bag of different brands of coffee to take home. Yes, garbage bag. They didn’t have a box or anything so I had to haul them back to the hostel inside a black trash bag lol. Good thing, customs didn’t have any problem with it. So being in coffee heaven, the egg coffee was on an entirely different level. You’d think egg and coffee doesn’t go well together. Just thinking about it makes my tummy squeamish  but all with the all the raves I’ve been reading about it, must be good right? Thankfully, yes.

It was insanely delicious. No funky after taste at all from the egg. I also loved how distinct the taste of coffee was despite the heavy cream. The place itself has a real friendly vibe too. People, mostly locals, spend hours chatting over a cup of coffee while cracking sunflower seeds open, the shells piling up on the floor. I wanted to try it too but there was no English menu and we can’t stay long so maybe next time.

If you wanna make your own version I found this recipe online. I tried but it wasn’t near as good as Cafe Giảng's but it was alright.
