Hello,Stranger.

Nara was beautiful. Period. I never thought I'd say this about any other Japanese city after spending a few days in Kyoto but it has to be said. The gardens were sublime. I especially liked Yoshikien because it's free and I seriously felt like Jill ( of Jack and Jill fame, lol ) walking along its winding paths sans bread crumbs. 😅 One thing about this trip was  that I didn't have data roaming nor have I rented a pocket WiFi. The free Japan WiFi app was not yet available at the time too. Pretty insane for someone traveling solo, right? AND, it was my first time in Japan too! But that was me being a total loony. 😅 So I made my way around using traditional method i.e. the use of a paper map. I am a person with no sense of direction but I'm not sure whether the maps in Japan were just well made or that my inner map reading capability have been activated due to the sheer need for survival, but whatever it was, I never really had any major problem finding my way aroun...

Today, I parted ways with my friends. They'd rather spend their last day in Kyoto but I wanted to see Nara before I head to Osaka. So I caught the train to Nara and headed to its park to see the famous deers. Nara station, grab a free map here. You'll need it! Right after I got off the bus, I could already see them walking across the road. They're literally everywhere! I saw one guy wrestling with one who was trying to bite his map off thinking it's food 😅 I read somewhere they could be a tad violent so I decided to keep my distance. However, I did try to coax some of them to pose for my camera without success. 😭 I think they were thinking what is this lady trying to do not even getting us a biscuit, what a cheapskate!
