Yoshikien Garden in Nara
Nara was beautiful. Period. I never thought I'd say this about any other Japanese city after spending a few days in Kyoto but it has to be said. The gardens were sublime. I especially liked Yoshikien because it's free and I seriously felt like Jill ( of Jack and Jill fame, lol ) walking along its winding paths sans bread crumbs. 😅 One thing about this trip was that I didn't have data roaming nor have I rented a pocket WiFi. The free Japan WiFi app was not yet available at the time too. Pretty insane for someone traveling solo, right? AND, it was my first time in Japan too! But that was me being a total loony. 😅 So I made my way around using traditional method i.e. the use of a paper map. I am a person with no sense of direction but I'm not sure whether the maps in Japan were just well made or that my inner map reading capability have been activated due to the sheer need for survival, but whatever it was, I never really had any major problem finding my way aroun...
